What are the principles of our Performing Arts curriculum?

 

 

  • ‘Target’ instruments for each year group to ensure children experience a broad music curriculum at Chieveley
  • Listening and responding to music
  • Understanding and using the language of music
  • Developing performance awareness and skills
  • Each year group builds on skills from previous years, with increasingly complex instruments 
  • have opportunities for presenting performances individually and in groups, with links between in-class content and class productions
  • develop oral and physical skills, including using language and movement appropriate to role
