Medicines and First Aid

Each playtime and lunch time we have a member of staff in the first aid room. Most of the children who are sent to the First Aider just need a little bit of TLC and perhaps a little more resilience.  After recent updates of our First Aid training, the school team have decided that we need to streamline our approach, as far too many children are being sent into First Aid unnecessarily. From today, those sent to First Aid will have been checked by a member of staff on the playground first using a triage approach. If they then deem that the child needs something more than can be delivered at the First Aid post outside, then they will be sent to a First Aider, or an emergency card will be sent to the First Aider to come immediately. We now also have walkie-talkies on the playground to send for assistance quickly. Please see below for our school procedures:
